MSU Police Internal Affairs
Michigan State University Police Department employees are expected to demonstrate the highest standards and performance. If you feel you encountered a MSU Police Department employee who didn’t demonstrate these standards and you would like to file a complaint, please contact us and ask to speak with the shift supervisor. If you wish to share information and a compliment about a member of our department, please contact either Internal Affairs or the Police Oversight Committee.
Police Oversight Committee
You can also contact the Police Oversight Committee with a complaint about any police department employee. A member of the Administrative Services Division serves as the point of contact to the MSU Police Oversight Committee. The Police Oversight Committee is an impartial body through which any citizen can make a complaint about the actions of a MSU police officer. It is comprised of three faculty representatives, two support staff representatives, three student representatives from currently enrolled students and one ex-officio from the MSU Police Department. The committee addresses grievances regarding officer actions and based on supporting information, makes recommendations about discipline to the MSU Police Department Chief of Police.
